Hitting on Western Chinese Girls

Walk down certain streets of cities like San Francisco and chances are you might run into more Asians than Americans. The situation is not different in European cities like Barcelona, which boast an immense Chinese population. Near all the shops, restaurants and supermarkets around the Arc de Triomf belong to the Chinese and if you need directions, you are better off speaking Mandarin than Catalan.
Most non-Asians will regard this Asian population simply as "Chinese", completely ignoring the fact that some of these individuals are actually as Western as they are. Although Chinese people continue to immigrate to the West, the majority of the families living in the US and Europe have immigrated years ago and many might already be the second generation born in the West. Although they might have been raised under substantial Chinese influence, they are indeed Westerners. So if you are a fan of all Chinese women and have been wondering why you are constantly getting turned down by them, then here are some things you should try to avoid.
Never ask a Chinese-American girl where she is really from.
"Chinese women" born and raised in the West consider themselves just as Western as you are. Avoid walking up to them and asking them where they are really from. This will make them feel uncomfortable or rather like a circus attraction.
Don't ask them their real name.
If a Western Chinese woman tells you her name and it sounds pretty "normal" or less Chinese than you expected, whatever you do, don't ask her what is her real name. This is a total turn down for these girls and it will just put more distance between you and them.
Don't pretend to be interested in their culture.
It`s amazing how many white guys will try to take the "cultural path" down a Chinese woman's pants. Most of these men don't know the first thing about China, but somehow never hesitate to say they are fascinated about Chinese culture in order to try and attract Chinese girls. If you are really a fan of Chinese culture, then keep your mind shut. You will have plenty of time to discuss it with the girl later on. For now, avoid trying to make a big deal about the fact that she looks Asian and you don't.
Don't try to get her attention by saying 2 words of Mandarin.
Avoid saying NiHao to every Asian woman you see. If you are already doing this, you probably don't know the first thing about Asians and you might well be "NiHao"-ing a Korean or a Japanese woman, thus making an ass out of yourself.
Remember, most Chinese women attract attention because of their race. More often than not, they will have spent their whole lives dealing with guys trying to get their attention and affection through that one single aspect of their individuality, which they have absolutely no control over nor have worked hard to achieve.
Communicating well with a Western Chinese woman is as easy as communicating with any other girl in the area. Instead of making foolish jokes or trying to impress her with the knowledge you don't possess, smile and say something along the lines of "Hey, how's it going? My name is... " Observe her behavior for a while and try to find something relevant to say or ask or joke about. For example, if she's watching a sports game, ask for her predictions of how it will turn out. Try to bring a little humor to the conversation, but don't over do it. Keep in mind that your main goal is to make her feel comfortable with you. Talking too much about her Chinese heritage will just make her think you see her like an alien, a trophy or the cure for your burning "yellow fever".
